Workers’ compensation or “work comp” are claims for injuries that arise out of and in the course of one’s employment. Illinois’ workers’ compensation law is a no-fault system. This means injuries occurring on the job are covered by workers’ compensation — regardless of whether the employer was negligent. A work injury can be a life-altering event. Know your rights.
Filing a claim for a work related injury is your legal right. The law says you are entitled to certain benefits if injured on the job, including:
Temporary total disability (TTD) benefits (lost wages);
Temporary partial disability (TPD) benefits (partial lost wages);
Medical benefits;
Permanent partial disability (PPD) benefits (compensation for your injury); and/or
Vocational rehabilitation
